If you're familiar with action-rpg hack n'slash games just close this window, launch the game, and crush everything in your path. Just pay careful attention to the "nature" of the attacks that you will carry out with your weapons and spells. ...but if you want to know something more, read on.

INTRODUCTION

Once you have started the game, the main way to interact is with the mouse. You can move, use objects, and do actions simply by clicking and using the drag&drop.

To move around, click on the place where you want to go and to attack an enemy just click on it.

You will be able to use potions and spells equipped in your fast access slots by clicking their icons on the interface, or pressing the keys from 1 to 5.

Inventory, Journal/Log, Characteristics, and Spellbook screens can be accessed by clicking their icons on the interface. You can also directly access the Inventory by clicking I on the keyboard.

To pause the game press ESC. While on the pause screen you can save your progress.

If you have been hurt or you have cast many spells, you can use potions to restore your life and mana points. You will notice that if you rest, meaning you don't walk around and you don't attack anyone, your life and mana points will slowly restore themselves.

Depending on the equipped weapon, the nature of the attack will change. You have to take great care with this because you could find that very though enemies (bosses marked by a red circle at their feet), are immune to some kind of attacks.

All the quests to be finished and the missions you have accomplished will be written in your Journal (or Log).

Fighting and solving quests will give you wealth and experience points. Thanks to these points you will raise Kaptivo's level.

When gaining a new experience level you will receive some "bonus points" that you will be free to distribute between the characteristics and abilities of your character. You will also gain a "spell point" that will allow you to learn a new spell from the "Spellbook".

During your adventures you will conquer, buy and trade great treasures and equipment. To evaluate them and to discover their powers, carefully read the pop up messages appearing when you select them in your inventory

Autoattack:

When the game starts an “auto attack” option will be active. This means that when you click an enemy, your knight will keep attacking until he, or his target die.

Once your enemy is defeated you need to select a new target.

You can toggle this “auto attack” option on, or off in the [options/save] menu.


PLAY AS A MYSTIC WARRIOR

In this episode, you can play as a warrior or as a mage. To switch from one mode to the other just press the button near the mana bar (bottom left part of the screen), or press "M" on the keyboard. You can also switch from one mode to the other from the Inventory screen.

A sword represents the warrior mode, a thunderbolt the mage mode.

As a normal warrior your unarmed attack will be your bare punches. You will be allowed to wear armors but you won't be able to cast spells.

On the other hand, your unarmed attack as a mage will be an energy sphere. In this mode you can use weapons (that will substitute your unarmed attack), but you won't be able to wear any armor. You wil lbe allowed to put on only mage vests. As a mage, you can also cast equipped spells.

To equip a spell, go in the spellbook and place the desired spell in one of the slots on your belt (bottom right part of the screen).

Remember that if you want to un-equip a spell from the action bar the SpellBook must be open!

Inside the game, click on the spell on your belt to activate it.

If it's a blessing spell or a spell which affects an area, its effect will be immediate.

If the spell is an attack spell with a single target, after clicking on its icon on the belt you must select a target before the spell is actually cast.

Click on an enemy to select it as the target. Clicking anywhere else on the screen will de-activate the spell.

Remember that in order to cast a spell you must have enough mana points. Also, when you cast a spell you will have to wait for a while before being able to cast it again, since every spell has its own recharge time.

For every experience level you acquire, you will gain a "spell point" that can be used to learn new spells.

Keep in mind that the action bar and the equipped items are specific for every game mode.

That means that if you are in mage mode and you have a sword equipped, or potions on your mage belt, when switching to warrior mode you won't be able to use them, because the warrior will have its own equipped items.

MOVEMENT AND INTERACTION

Moving the mouse pointer around the world you will notice that it will change its shape depending on the actions that you can do on the various objects.

Movement: when the pointer doesn't change, you can simply click on a place on screen and your character will move to that point.

Fight: when you move the pointer over an enemy the pointer will change in a sword. Just click on the enemy and you will move to him and attack.

Collect objects: when you pass with the mouse over a collectable object the pointer will change into a hand. Click on the object to collect it. Be careful, because the room in your backpack and your strength aren't unlimited!

Take Money

Dialogues: if moving the mouse over a character shows a dialogue icon, then you can have a talk with that character. Just click on him to start talking and then click again to proceed in the dialogue.

Equipment: access the inventory screen by pressing I on the keyboard or clicking the inventory icon on the interface. You can drag and drop objects from your backpack (right side of the window) to the slots of the equipped items (left side of the window). You can only place scrolls and potions inside the 5 fast access slots.

Passing with the pointer over an object in the inventory will show a pop up explaining its characteristics.

As you can see in the images below, the Inventory changes, depending on the current mode.

Shop: when you find a merchant you can trade objects and equipment with him. Pointing and clicking on the merchant you will open the shop window, which shows items available to buy on the left and items you can sell on the right. To buy an item you simply have to drag and drop it from the merchant's stuff to your inventory. To sell an item just drag and drop it from your inventory to the merchant's stuff. Read the popup information regarding the equipment to sell or carefully!

Journal: click on the log icon to access your journal's entries. Point and click the arrows on the pages to flip through them.

SpellBook: click on the spellbook icon on the interface to access the list of known spells. When you open this book, if you have 1 or more spell points left you can learn new spells clicking on the icons of those you want to learn.

Read the pop-ups explaining the effects of the spells, and the connections between them to plan your magic studies. Some spells can be learned only after others have been aquires, so be careful when making your choices.

Speelbook 2

You can access the spellbook and equip spells in your mage belt even if you are in warrior mode, but once you have closed the spellbook you won't obviously be able to use the spell until you switch to mage mode.

Fast access slots: in these slots you can place potions to have them easily available to use during a fight. If you are in mage mode you can also use spells that you have equipped in these slots. Simply click the keys from 1 to 5, or point and clicking on the potion/spell you want to use.

CHARACTERISTICS AND ABILITIES

Characteristic and ability values are expressed as [base value] / [current value] base values and current values can differ: as an example you could have equipped an amulet which gives you a bonus on your strength characteristic or maybe you are using a bow which gives you a minus on your defense ability.

Level Up

characteristics

Strength: physical power of your character. Raises melee weapon damage and combined with dexterity affects hand to hand combat.

Dexterity: agility and character coordination. Affects distance fighting and hand to hand combat.

Constitution: fortitude and health of your character. Affects health points.

Life points: vital energy of your character. If it reaches 0, he dies. You will slowly recover your life points when you don't perform any action.

Mana points: mystical energy used to cast every spell. You will slowly recover your mana points when you don't perform any action.

Intelligence: your character's mental abilities. Affects the amount of bonus points you receive once you acquire a new level and the wisdom ability.

Spirit: supernatural abilities of the character. Affects your magic power and is fundamental for spellcasting.

Attack nature: tells the nature of your attack with the currently equipped weapon

melee Defense: % of defense against melee attacks

ranged defense: % of defense against ranged attacks

magic defense: % of defense against magic attacks

knowledge: culture and psycho-linguistic abilities. It affects the prices in the shop.
