Genre: Action, Platform

This game was made for LD 29 Game Jam. Made in 72hrs. You are stuck "beneath the surface" and trying to find a way up. There seems to be only 1 giant door blocking your path. Can you open it?

Arrows and S

This could have been a really neat little puzzle platformer, but ... alas it's got a couple of major flaws.

The keyboard controls are really counter-intuitive compared to most arrow key based games. And the save points in the game are too infrequent meaning you have to go back and replay many sections again, which is very frustrating.

Apart from that the graphics, sounds and music are all good.

It was written in 72 hours, so not bad given the time constraint.

However, it could be so much better with not too much more effort.

perfect example how platformjumping game isn't supposed to made: 1. saving system bites bottom (result: player replays levels alot), 2. controls are awkward (result char dies alot and see 1), 3. char is supposed to jump long distance and player needs to hope that char can grab hold on something (result see 1 & 2 so wishful thinking).

overall only good thing in this game is that player can give up playing quite quickly (unless is masochist and really wants to try to finish the game).

diabolical is about the only word to describe this game. I shall go no further on that description.

Standard adventure platformer, where you have to look around and find various upgrades. Could have been fun, but unfortunately there is a point where I just can't go on. You either have to jump a distance, that is way too far even for the air jump, but since this is obviously impossible, the only other way seems to be climbing several overhangs using perfectly timed air jumps and climbs. I found this so insanely and hand-cramping difficult that I gave up and cursed the developers. Seriously, this isn't fun. Challenging spots, sure. But this was just frustrating. How can you seriously demand thst from your players?
Hmph, well, I could keep ranting much longer about this nuisance, but in short: This games gets no love from me
2/5 stars, because until that point it was quite OK.
